Start your career working with children and families through an innovative Registered Apprenticeship program housed in the Teacher Preparation area at 91约炮. This integrated 鈥渆arn and learn鈥 pathway combines paid, on-the-job training with Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) coursework taught through 91约炮, allowing you to build skills while progressing toward your career goals. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor and the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Registered Apprenticeships in California are industry-vetted programs that prepare you for in-demand roles such as early childhood teacher, teacher aide, home visitor, family advocate, early interventionist, recreation worker, and more鈥攐ffering a clear on-ramp to meaningful, community-centered careers.

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES

Start at the tier that matches your experience, eligibility, and goals, and continue along the pathway. In partnership with organizations throughout the Bay Area, this program supports individuals working in preschools while completing college courses. These registered apprenticeships provide an on-ramp to a variety of careers supporting children and families, including early childhood teachers, teacher educators, home visitors, social and human services professionals, family and public policy advocates, parent-child educators, and more

Early Care & Education Associate Teacher

PRE-APPRENTICESHIP (TIER I)

  • 6-12 Semester Units, 91约炮 School Readiness Certificate
  • Earn 200-400 hours of paid On-the-Job-Training (OJT)
  • Industry certification eligibility issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)-- Child Development Assistant and Associate Teacher Permit

  • Teachers鈥 Assistant, Teachers鈥 Aide in all educational settings
  • Preschool Teacher
  • Before, Afterschool, Recreation Teacher
  • Home Visitor
  • Residential Advisor

Early Care & Education Teacher

ECE TEACHER APPRENTICESHIP (TIER II)

  • 60-Semester Units to attain 91约炮 Associate鈥檚 Degree for Transfer
  • Earn 2000 hours of paid OJT
  • Eligible for Child Development Teacher Permit

  • Early Childhood Teacher
  • Elementary School Teacher

Early Care & Education (ECE) Lead Teacher

BA COMPONENT - ECE MASTER TEACHER APPRENTICESHIP (TIER III)

  • 120-Semester Units to attain Bachelor鈥檚 Degree
  • Earn additional hours of paid OJT
  • Eligible for Child Development Master Teacher and Site Supervisor Permit
  • Eligible to enter Teacher Credential Program
