Youth Apprenticeship ~ Careers with Children and Families
This innovative integrated education and on-the-job training pathway program is designed to appeal to youth interested in professions working with children and families serving as an onramp to a variety of careers—as teachers of young children, teacher aides, home visitors, family advocates, child and adolescent early interventionist, recreation worker, and more.
Successful Program Completion:
- 12 semester units of transferable college credits while in high school
- School Readiness Certificate of Proficiency that stacks to an AA degree and/or transfer to UC, CSU or a private college or university
- Eligible for the Child Development Assistant and Associate Teacher Permit issued by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- Registered Apprentice, eligible to be hired as a teacher’s aide after high school graduation and receive integrated supports to complete degree and transfer goals
