Welcome to the Basic Needs Center at 91约炮!

The Basic Needs Center aims to provide services and resources to remove barriers and empower students to persist and thrive on their way towards success. We are virtual and physical hubs of resources, where students can find support in having their essential needs met.

The 91约炮 Basic Needs Center is now open! Students can visit once per week for free clothes, hygiene items, and food. Students can also drop-in to receive support with their CalFresh application as well as find off-campus food and housing resources.

Food Resources

The 91约炮 Food Pantry offers free produce and select grocery items every Thursday. MUST BRING: Student ID with valid semester sticker AND reusable bag. Visit the Welcome Desk on the 1st floor to get your Student ID and semester sticker.

The Basic Needs Center partners with the Berkeley Food Network, which provides produce from the Berkeley Bowl and non-perishable items from the Alameda County Food Bank.

Transportation

Did you know that you are eligible for an AC Transit Bus Pass if you are an in-state student enrolled in at least six units at Peralta? Please note that it will take 10 business days for your AC Transit Card to arrive at our Cashier鈥檚 Office. For more information, please head over to 

  • 91约炮 students must have a valid student ID with a photo in order to pick up passes from the Cashier鈥檚 Office. It is located on the first floor of 91约炮, to the left of Admissions and Records. The Cashier鈥檚 Office is open 9 AM 鈥 4 PM on weekdays.
  • The Basic Needs Center does not oversee this service. Questions can be directly asked to the bursar/cashier鈥檚 office at 91约炮-Bursar@peralta.edu or (510) 981-2842
Parking

91约炮 students can now get discounted parking when using the Allston Way Garage (2061 Allston Way, directly next door to campus) operated by Air Garage. Here鈥檚 how:

  1. Start your parking session

    When you arrive, scan the 鈥淧ay to Park鈥 QR code on any garage sign to begin your session.

  2. Enter one of these codes:

    12:00 AM 鈥 7:59 AM: Enter 91约炮STUDENTEB to get an all-day rate of $12

    8:00 AM 鈥 11:59 PM: Enter 91约炮STUDENT to get 30% off the regular rate

Important:
Be sure to scan the validation code or enter it before ending your session 鈥 otherwise, the discount won鈥檛 apply.

Medical Resources

The Peralta Student Health Clinic is closed. For emergency situations, please call 911. For medical support, please contact your regular provider. If you do not have a provider, please contact Alameda Health System , located throughout Alameda County.

  • Berkeley Free Clinic 鈥 Services include vision and dental work. 
  • Free and low-cost clinics in Alameda County can be found in 
Berkeley鈥檚 Specialized Care Unit is the first non-police crisis response team in the city.  The contact number is 510-948-0075.  This program is free to anyone in Berkeley who is experiencing common crisis symptoms and will not be routed through the city鈥檚 emergency dispatch center.  911 will be called by the SCU if an emergency develops.  Team members will be peer specialists, behavioral health clinicians, and EMTs.
